Indohyus

Hi, quadruplets,

Daddy had a tough day, but thinking of you makes me feel better. I always have stories to share with you! Here’s a cool story about a creature from long, long ago called Indohyus. It was a small mammal that changed a lot over millions of years. Eventually, it became the whales we know today. Isn’t that amazing?

Indohyus: The Little Swimmer

Once upon a time, a little creature named Indohyus lived in a warm, green world about 48 million years ago. Indohyus looked a bit like a tiny deer, but he had some special secrets! Indohyus loved to splash in the water. He had strong legs to run on land and a body that could swim, too! His teeth were special because he liked to munch on both plants and little fish. As time passed, Indohyus and his family began to change. They spent more time in the water, and their bodies became smoother and sleeker, just like the fish they liked to catch. This was the beginning of their journey! Indohyus's jaws transformed, making it easier to eat yummy treats from the water.

As they evolved, their teeth became sharper and better suited for catching fish, while their strong tails helped them swim faster. Fossils of Indohyus show that he had special bones that helped him float and stay underwater. He was a little explorer, learning how to dive and play in the sea!. With each splash and every swim, Indohyus and his family slowly changed into incredible creatures that would become the great whales we see today. They adapted to their watery home, learning to hunt and play in the ocean. And so, from a little land-dweller to a magnificent swimmer, Indohyus changed over millions of years into the whales we know today.

I need to freshen up and grab a meal before heading to work. Yes, daddy just returned but has to go back out again for work.

Love as always,
