Cruel fate

He paints her beauty 
in words unsaid
a masterpiece of love 
his heart outspread
cruel fate 
that binds his heart
to love unrequited 
torn apart

yet she dances 
in another's embrace
leaving him to wander 
in a loveless space
he'll linger 
in the shadows silently
a man in love with 
a love not meant to be.
