The OpenAI O1 model has demonstrated exceptional performance, scoring 120 on a Mensa-developed IQ test—well above the average human IQ of 100. In contrast, Claude 3 from Anthropic is estimated to have an IQ of 100. OpenAI’s newest model, however, stands out with an estimated IQ of 155, comparable to Elon Musk's IQ of 153 and Einstein's IQ of 160. Ranking in the top 0.1% of test takers, this model showcases remarkable proficiency in understanding and generating human-like text.

"Human beings will become the second most intelligent beings on the planet. We have a general idea of what it's doing, but once it becomes really complicated, we don't actually know what's going on—any more than we fully understand what's happening in our own brains," said Geoffrey Hinton, the father of AI, in an interview.
When asked, "What do you mean we don't know exactly how it works? It was designed by people," Hinton responded:
"No, it wasn't. What we designed was the learning algorithm. It's a bit like designing the principles of evolution. But when this learning algorithm interacts with data, it produces complex neural networks that are effective at solving tasks, but we don’t fully understand how they do it."
